This practice offers ways to streamline registration for newly graduating applicants.

  • The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) enables new graduates to register after they have fulfilled all course requirements but before convocation. This helps them in their job search after they have completed their social work program.
  • The OCSWSSW has set a new-graduate registration fee for applicants who apply for registration before December 31 of the year in which they graduate. The new-graduate fee is $100 less than the regular registration fee and remains in effect for two years after initial registration. This reduced fee is also available to the internationally educated social workers who complete the Certificate in Canadian Social Work offered at Ryerson University in Toronto.
