Institute of CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS of Ontario

This practice addresses the challenges that many internationally trained applicants experience concerning the length of the licensing process.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario created a new membership pathway for internationally-trained accountants who have worked in an accounting or business environment for twelve years, five of which were at a senior level.

The Evaluation of Experience membership pathway offers qualified applicants a chance to show that they have developed necessary knowledge and competencies. They do this by providing documents and answering "evaluation questions." Applicants are required to prove that they hold an approved international accounting designation and to respond to six questions designed to demonstrate their ability to process the complex issues expected of a chartered accountant.
