College of PHYSIOTHERAPISTS of Ontario

College of PHYSIOTHERAPISTS of Ontario

This practice outlines measures to ensure the objectivity of third party examinations.

The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) takes measures to ensure that the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (the Alliance) reports its processes to ensure objectivity, both to the CPO and to applicants.

After the administration of each exam, the Alliance provides reports to the CPO about the exam's validity and reliability. The quality assurance process includes training for staff; collection of feedback from applicants, member regulators and evaluators; and administrative audits. If concerns arise, the CPO shares them with the testing expert from the Alliance. He or she can help the CPO determine whether it is reasonable to rely on the results from that administration of the exam.

The CPO and the Alliance have a written agreement on the use and expectations of the Alliance's evaluation services.

The registrar and council president of the CPO sit on the Alliance's board of directors and are able to ensure that appropriate practices occur at the Alliance.
