College of OPTICIANS of Ontario

This practice makes a wide range of registration information easy to find and easy to understand.

The College of Opticians of Ontario (COO) has an attractive and well-organized website. The menu structure for the registration section of the site clearly identifies information about:

  • training and education

  • entry-to-practice competencies

  • registration requirements

  • registration processes

  • registration fees

Information is provided about all registration requirements, both exemptible and non-exemptible, for each class of registration. Information about registration steps is organized by type of applicant: accredited education applicant; non-accredited education applicant; and nationally registered applicant. This allows applicants to easily identify the information that applies to their particular circumstances.

This practice contributes to transparency and reduces the burden of responding to individual inquiries and questions.
