College of PHYSIOTHERAPISTS of Ontario

Description

This practice will interest regulatory bodies who are exploring ways to help applicants and the public better understand their decision-making process, especially that of the registration committee.

The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) has a webinar called "A Day at the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario - Answering your Questions". It provides sample cases from college committees and discusses the review process and outcomes.

The CPO makes it clear that these are all true cases with identities protected.

Some cases address the complexities of making registration decisions and of considering an applicant's character or conduct.

Openness about the factors involved in decision-making helps inform applicants about the CPO's expectations. As a result, they are better prepared for the registration process.
